Frequently Asked Questions

How can Sync Botanicals help me balance my hormones?

1. Our blends contain potent ingredients.

Our blends feature over 30 organic herbs, spices, and adaptogens—used for centuries to support menstrual health, ease discomfort, and promote hormone balance. We consulted nutritionists, doctors, herbalists, and hormone specialists to carefully select each herb for its specific benefits.

2. Our master tea blenders craft each blend so the herbs work synergistically.

The combined effects of the botanicals in each blend is greater than the sum of their parts, allowing you to experience the full range of benefits with just one cup per day.

3. Our blends are tailored to the unique needs of your body at each phase of your cycle.

Whether it’s soothing relief during menstruation or an energy boost in the follicular phase, each blend is designed with input from doctors and hormone specialists to align with your body’s changing rhythms.

4. Herbs work best when taken consistently over time.

Studies show that the cumulative effect of botanicals daily helps your body maintain hormonal balance more effectively, with the benefits building up gradually. Most women find that the most significant results come after consistent use for several months.

5. We use only the finest all-organic botanicals. Quality matters—what goes into your tea directly impacts how well it supports your health, and we’ve taken every step to ensure you’re getting the best all-organic herbal blends.

Can I add milk, cream, honey, or other ingredients to my tea?

Absolutely! In fact, adding a source of fat like dairy or non-dairy milk can actually help increase the effectiveness of your tea. Some herbs contain fat-soluble compounds, such as certain antioxidants, that are better absorbed by your body when consumed with fat. As for sweeteners, feel free to experiment with different ones to create a daily ritual that feels joyful and nourishing to you.

Why does each box contain 6 different blends?

We offer 6 blends to provide the most effective, targeted, and precise support for each phase of the menstrual cycle. By using 6 distinct blends, we’re able to tailor the formulation to address the specific hormonal shifts—like the rise in estrogen during the follicular phase or the increase in progesterone in the luteal phase. This approach allows us to use more targeted herbs, such as Vitex to support progesterone production in the luteal phase and Red Clover to balance estrogen levels in the follicular phase, rather than simpler off-the-shelf teas that may not meet your body’s needs at each stage.

How do I drink your tea if I don’t have a period or if it is irregular?

Even if you’re not currently menstruating or if your menstruation is irregular—whether due to an IUD, being post-menopausal, or any other reason—you can still benefit deeply from the natural rhythms that govern our world.

Believe it or not, for women not menstruating, hormone experts widely recommend cycle syncing with the phases of the moon, offering you a unique way to connect with the cycles of nature and your own inner rhythms. The moon has a profound influence on life on Earth. Its gravitational pull controls the ocean’s tides, guiding the rise and fall of the waters. Just as the moon affects the tides, it subtly influences our bodies, which are made up of about 60% water.

How To Cycle Sync With The Moon Phases:

To use the teas with the moon cycle, start with “Root” (the menstrual phase blend (days 1-5)) on the new moon and continue clockwise around the box drinking one cup per day. This will work out so that you will drink “Pulse” (the ovulatory phase blend) during the full moon, and finish with the luteal phase blends as the moon wanes.

Many women have reported more regular cycles and feeling more in sync with their bodies after aligning their routines with the lunar phases.

I fell behind on drinking the tea and have some extra, what do I do with it?

If you fall behind on drinking the tea and have some extra, don’t worry! Life happens- we get it. We designed this tea to be flexible so you can easily get back on track without stressing about perfection.

Simply continue with your current phase and save the tea you missed for the same phase next month. Or, if you're still in the same phase as the one you missed, simply have two cups in one day to catch up. (In fact, hot tea tip- drinking 2-3 cups per day can further enhance their effectiveness!).

Also, studies show that the effects of herbal support build up over time, so it’s the cumulative impact that really makes a difference. So, missing some days here or there won’t disrupt your progress. Just get right back on track and let the botanicals do the rest.

What if I have PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, or another condition?

While our formulas aren’t intended to treat or cure any medical conditions, many herbs in our blends are traditionally used to help alleviate symptoms associated with hormonal balances. However, we always recommend consulting your doctor.

Can I use your botanicals if I am on the pill or have an IUD?

Yes! In fact, hormonal contraceptives can sometimes lead to imbalances or nutrient depletion, meaning your body might benefit even more from additional hormonal support. However, we always recommend checking with your doctor.

Can herbs support me if I am going through perimenopause?

Yes! In fact, several of the herbs in our blends have traditionally been used for supporting women in this stage of life. Vitex, ashwagandha, and maca help support mood, energy, and hormone balance, while raspberry leaf and licorice root promote steadier estrogen levels and ease perimenopause symptoms.

Can I use your botanicals if I’m trying to conceive or am currently pregnant or breastfeeding?

While many women find botanicals and herbs particularly beneficial during these stages, we always recommend checking with your doctor.

What if my period is late or arrives earlier than expected while drinking the blends?

The beneficial influence of the botanicals are meant to gently nudge your body into an optimal menstrual cycle rhythm.

If your period starts earlier than expected, just move to the next box and begin again at menstrual day 1 and continue the cycle from there. Sync Botanicals is designed to support your body at every stage, so simply follow your body’s lead and let the herbs do their work.

If your period is unexpectedly running late, don’t worry. We recommend waiting it out and when your period begins, simply start back with your 'Root' blend in the next box. If you know your cycle is consistently longer than 28 days, feel free to space out the botanicals toward the end of your cycle.

Is there research supporting the effectiveness of these herbs?

Yes, the botanicals used in our blends have been researched for their effectiveness in supporting hormonal health, particularly when used during specific phases of the cycle. If you want to geek out on the research, check out the "Our Ingredients" page!

We’re not inventing anything new—these herbs have been used for centuries and are widely accepted for their benefits. We’ve simply made it easy for you to take advantage of their powerful effects in a way that fits seamlessly into your daily routine.

Just to name a few, Vitex (Chasteberry), commonly used in the luteal phase, has been shown in studies to reduce PMS symptoms and support progesterone balance. A study published in Phytomedicine found that Vitex can significantly reduce PMS symptoms, such as irritability and bloating, due to its effects on prolactin and progesterone balance (Schellenberg, 2001). Ashwagandha, also used during the luteal phase, has demonstrated effectiveness in managing stress and supporting adrenal health, which is especially beneficial as progesterone levels peak. A study in Indian Journal of Psychological Medicine found that ashwagandha significantly reduced cortisol levels and stress in adults (Chandrasekhar et al., 2012).

Nettle and Red Raspberry Leaf, used in the follicular and menstrual phases, have been shown to nourish the uterus, reduce inflammation, and support menstrual health. Red raspberry leaf, traditionally known as a uterine tonic, has been associated with improved menstrual symptoms, as supported by herbal medicine research (Dugoua et al., Canadian Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2006). Nettle is rich in iron and minerals, essential for replenishing nutrients during menstruation (Upton, 2013).

Schisandra, another herb used in the follicular phase, has been studied for its ability to boost energy and support liver function, aiding in hormonal detoxification. Research in Journal of Ethnopharmacology indicates that schisandra has hepatoprotective properties and supports liver function, which is crucial for hormonal balance and detoxification (Panossian & Wikman, 2008)."

How long does it take to see results?

Many women start noticing positive changes within 1-3 months of consistent use. However, everyone’s body is different, and results can vary based on your unique hormonal balance and health. Herbs tend to have a cumulative effect, meaning the longer you use them, the more benefits most women experience.
